Amazingly, it was completed in record time, and we're pretty happy with it. The kitchen is a 10’ by 11’ room cut up by three doorways, which means that it’s a small and awkward space. We only have about 8.5’ of countertop space (3.5’ on each side of the sink, plus a tiny bit next to the stove), so we desperately needed to make the most of what we had.

The Flickr slideshow (start to finish) is here:http://flickr.com/photos/colfax/sets/598066/show/

Project specifications:
Range and Microwave: GE Profile
Fridge: Amana Easy-Reach Dishwasher: KitchenAid
Sink: Blanco undermount
Faucet: Grohe Ladylux Café
Filter Faucet: BrassTech
Undersink Filter: GE Smartwater dual-stage filter
Countertop: Caesarstone in concrete.
Wall Paint: Benjamin Moore’s Potpourri Green.
Nook wall is Pratt & Lambert’s Willow Green.
Backsplash: H&R Johnson white subway tiles.
Ceiling fan: Minka Aire Supra 44 ceiling fan
Undercabinet lights: Kichler Xenon undercabinet lights.
Ceiling light: Alma base with fluted shade, Rejuvenation.
Cabinets: Painted (Benjamin Moore’s Decorators White) framed birch cabinets with full overlay. We're updating it with new cabinets and appliances, but sadly we're only gaining about 4" more counter space. We couldn't justify taking out any walls or doing anything major since we don't plan on being in the house for more than five years (plus our pocketbooks are fairly shallow), so we're working within the footprint of the original kitchen. We took out the radiator under the sink and replaced it with a kickspace heater, so finally I'll be able to store all my cleaning products down there.

We've only just started so I don't have a ton of pictures yet. The new cabinets just went in on Friday. This week the floor goes in and the appliances arrive! Can't wait.
